The 12th Annual Jazz in the Gardens (#JITG2017), produced by the City of Miami Gardens, is a considered and one of the most anticipated music festivals in the country for a reason. If you missed out on this past weekend’s festival, you were at disadvantage.

The two-day lineup of world class artists representing a dynamic mix of musical genres was amazing. This year’s festival was hosted by comedy legend and entertainment mogul Rick Smiley. Jill Scott, LL COOL J, Common, Robin Thicke, The Roots, and other top artists made this year’s festival nothing short of soulful. The lineup also included: Esperanza Spalding, Morris Day & The Time, Chante Moore, Will Downing, Smokie Norful, and local artists.

On Sunday, two of the youngest actors from the Oscar award-winning and Miami-based film Moonlight, Alex Hibbert and Jaden Piner (pictured below) each received their own key to the city for their performances in the highly acclaimed movie:

Esperanza Spalding is unique. This young lady is talented. The bass is a signature instrument in her performance, adding to her unforgettable stage presence.
