So let me know your thoughts on this? A group of white college students decided to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day like this….
Reports say that a fraternity in Arizona State University thought it would be cool to host a party during MLK day by dressing up in jerseys, while throwing up gang signs and drinking out of watermelon shaped cups.
Pictures from the party surfaced on the Internet, and as expected it caused an uproar.
The university suspended the fraternity. Supposedly this is not the first time the frat has been in trouble. They just got off suspension in December from another incident that occurred involving a fight. The name of the fraternity has not been disclosed.
“Tau Kappa Epsilon does not condone or support any actions by its members that would be defined as racist, discriminatory and/or offensive. Social events with ‘party themes’ that are defined as such have no place in our fraternity’s mission or purpose,” spokesman Alex Baker said in the statement.
