Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar and Tamar Braxton were on hand to announce the nominees at the BET Awards ’13 press conference in L.A. on Tuesday.

Also there was Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Charlie Wilson and host of this years BET Awards, Chris Tucker.

Kendrick, who scored eight nominations, read off half the nominees and Chris Breezy spoke about performing at the show and revealed that Aaliyah is featured on his new single, “They Don’t Know.”. R. Kelly is also set to perform at this year’s ceremony.

Drake leads with 12 nominations including five in the ‘Video of the Year’ category.

A$AP Rocky and Jay-Z each have five, and Justin Timberlake and Miguel have four each.

The BET Awards ’13 will air live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on June 30. This year’s BET Awards will be a part of BET’s first ever BET Experience, a three-day music and lifestyle fest done in partnership with AEG Live.
