RHOA Breaking News!!!! Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from Porsha Stewart last week!

Via Access Atlanta:

It looks like Kordell Stewart, former NFL player and husband to “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” Porsha Stewart, will be back on the market soon. Stewart — whom many of the other Housewives pegged as being too controlling — filed a petition for divorce March 22 in Fulton County Court. From the filing:

“Petitioner, after marrying respondent, a cast member on the “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” on May 21, 2011, is seeking divorce as the marriage is irretrievably broken.”

Count on seeing the drama unfold on future episodes of “Real Housewives.”

Rumor has it Kordell wanted Porsha to quit the show since it was disparaging his reputation and opening up scrutiny about their marriage, but Porsha wants a career and didn’t want to leave RHOA.

The couple does not have prenup so this should be interesting and they have been married less than five years.

I gotta see these court records before I believe anything! Your thoughts?

7:49 AM PT — According to the divorce docs, obtained by TMZ, Kordell says the marriage is “irretrievably broken” … and claims the two are currently separated.

It seems Kordell also believes he shouldn’t have to pay Porsha a single cent in spousal support … claiming, “[She’s] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.”

Kordell also says there are no marital assets subject to division … which could suggest there is a prenuptial agreement in play.

Now I know why reports were going around saying that Porscha was leaving the show. Via Rollingout.com last week:

After appearing on just one season of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” rumors are swirling that Porsha Stewart is leaving the program. Stewart, who is one of two actual housewives on the show, will reportedly not return on the order of her husband, Kordell Stewart. Numerous websites report that the ex-NFLer was so put off by the reality hit that he demanded that his wife not return next season. The rumor was later amplified after Kordell did not attend the reunion that recently taped in Atlanta.

“Kordell did not like the way he was portrayed on the show and thought that producers “disrespected” him and his household — so he convinced his wife that it was in her best interest to quit the show,” reported a popular gossip blog. “Kordell refused to attend the reunion show, despite every other spouse (Peter, Apollo, and even Todd) attending.”
