Early box office numbers are in from Christmas day, and two films, Les Miserables and Django Unchained, both opened with big numbers.
Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained didn’t scare crowds away due to the violence and use of the n-word. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film made nearly $14 million, easily setting the record for an R-rated Christmas day release.
Django,” starring Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCarprio and Samuel L. Jackson, will definitely take the number one spot!
Foxx plays a “slave turned bounty hunter” who “sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.” (IMDB)
