Fake hair is okay…some of the times but i really wish more sistas would at least give their natural hair a run. Its so much better and chaper than trying to keep up with the jones…or jessicas rather.

Selena, just because you’re black does not mean that you need a weave or wig. Actually those make your hair worse. So do relaxers (you called them perms which is incorrect). Natural is best. Black people need to learn to love their hair as it is and not embrace the eurocentric beauty as much unless their hair is naturally straight/curly.

I agree that paying that much for a wig is crazy especially when they are so detectable. I have seen people with cheaper wigs and I can’t see the lace & glue. Moving on…wearing wigs and getting relaxers will cause her hair to fall out more if that was in fact the real reason she started wearing wigs which I highly doubt. I think most of us would not recognize Bey without the 20lbs of make-up and 30 lbs of hair weave that she wears on the regular. That’s not true beauty. It is fake. I do like her as an artist, but I do wish she shake less, cover up more and focus on her talent. She doesn’t need to be half nude because she really has talent. That’s off the topic though. Simply, black women have some deep seated self-esteem issues and that is why so many of us are all running to glue and sew in some poor Malaysian lady’s hair. It covers up our own insecurities that are connected to hair and more importantly the myth of “good hair”. So many young girls look up to Bey, but all she is selling in the slef-image category is be fake at all times (always wear weaves, falls, or wigs & a tone of make-up) & wear uber-revealing provocative clothing at all times (she even had on tight clothing at the Inauguration) –that’s actually not a good look or good message to send out to young people. But she’s “nice”, wealthy, and actually talented so image is sanctioned and anyone who disagrees has to be hater who’s not attractive, not wealthy, unable to grow their own hair, and just mad in general.
